7a. Right outside the boy's cabin, several of these white-throated magpie-jays were feasting on a banana flower 7b. Here's a better picture of a jay - note the plume on the top of its head 7c. A variegated squirrel 7d. Another blue-crowned motmot - love these colorful birds!
7e. The 'hotel' was on one side of a canyon. This was the bridge to the other side 7f. Crossing the bridge was somewhat unnerving, but Mom did it 7g. Even though there were people taking pictures on both sides of the bridge! 7h. Looking down from the bridge into the creek
7i. We had to cross the bridge to go horseback riding 7j. The horses were excellent 7k. Better than the riders 7l. Even Mom rode - for the first time ever!
7m. Rincon de la Vieja was very different flora than Monteverde - more like California 7n. This scissor-tailed flycatcher has a long forked tail - this picture doesn't capture how impressive a bird it is 7o. I went on the ride too 7p. Mom in the lead
7q. Here we are at the end before turning around and heading back. It was a gorgeous day 7r. Later, we were playing cards in the pavillion and Jonathan looked up and said, 'Hey, bats!'
